Kathie’s note: I met Maria through Astrology Hub, one of my absolute favorite spaces on the internet. I kept seeing this bubbly face, always smiling, and just embodying happiness in her whole face. And then she offered some one-on-one yoga classes, and I got to experience her delightful happiness in person (haha) every week. She’s a peach!

Maria [00:00:01]:
I'm Maria Zeta. I'm an embodiment and human potential guide. To me, writing is the gateway towards your desires and the first manifestation of your desire.

INTRO [00:00:11]:
Hi, welcome to the Writers Rotation podcast. I'm your host, Kathie Stamps. I love words and writing and people and talking. So I'm talking to people who write all kinds of things in different professions. It's a Writers Rotation.

Kathie [00:00:29]:
Maria!

Maria [00:00:29]:
Hi, Kathie. What time is it there?

Kathie [00:00:35]:
You're either in my future or in my past. I'm at 9 a.m. (in Kentucky)

Maria [00:00:40]:
It's 9 p.m. (in the Philippines), so you're in my future. Kathie, it's so good to see you again.

Kathie [00:00:47]:
How's yoga?

Maria [00:00:48]:
Well, actually, I just arrived from a class.

Kathie [00:00:51]:
What's your favorite type of yoga? They all have names.

Maria [00:00:55]:
I like fusion. So I don't like sticking to just yoga because I've been teaching so long. So it gets really boring if it's just so you know what I mean? I always do a mix of Tai Chi, yoga, and Pilates.

Kathie [00:01:09]:
Tai Chi, yoga, and Pilates. That does sound interesting. Tai Chi is... What do the words mean? Something energy.

Maria [00:01:19]:
In layman's terms, it really works on the energy flow of the body. The meridians. The movements are all designed to allow good energy flow, because most of the time we get sick or depressed because energy is not flowing well, so there are movements that are so simple. It doesn't feel like a workout, but it activates all 12 meridians, where energy passes. So that it can easily go to the organs, the vital systems. So it's very vitalizing. It's good for vitality and also the joints. Although even if it's just so simple, you won't think that it does so much good, you know, but it does.

Kathie [00:02:08]:
That's very cool. Okay, “Embody Your Human Potential.” Tell me everything.

Maria [00:02:14]:
Yes. In 2005, I met my mentor. I had a lot of questions about life at that time and basically he introduced me to the universe. That was way before The Secret came out. You know, the law of attraction. I had a lot of life questions. And, you know how you meet certain people at certain times in your life, there must have been an important transit. But he really changed my life. He introduced me to the universe, universal laws, principles, and how you can use them for your benefit. Like gravity, for instance. You know, we have gravity, we have electricity.

Maria [00:02:57]:
We don't see them, but we see the effects. So, for example, everyone knows that if you jump off a building, doesn't matter if you're rich or poor, doesn't matter if you're a girl or a boy. It applies to everyone.

Kathie [00:03:11]:
Gravity gonna get you!

Maria [00:03:13]:
So kind of like that. So basically he taught us those. Several laws we can use them to be creative. And at the end of the day, it's basically how you can live your life in a manner that pleases you. Because, of course, we're all different. Because there's always this idea that, you know, to be happy means you have to be like Bill Gates or whatever, maybe because you grew up with that being the epitome of happiness, but not necessarily so. And we know that because we've seen. Studied astrology.

Maria [00:03:47]:
So we know that, you know, it's unique for each one of us. And that's why I believe those two are so potent when you know your chart, when you know your destiny path, and then, you know, metaphysics, which is how to basically live well using these laws. And it's very practical also. For example, the law of resonance. So, for example, I want to be a writer. So the law of resonance basically is all about what does a writer do? And if you want to be a writer, then you have to do what the writer does.

Kathie [00:04:20]:
Well, basically, there's just the one thing you just. You write.

Maria [00:04:26]:
So. Yeah, you know what I mean? Because other people, they want to have a book, but, you know, or another example is they want to have more friends, but they get invited to parties and they say no. So the law of resonance is based on your desire or the kind of life you want. You have to be doing those things.

Maria [00:04:43]:
Another way to put it is like life mapping, you know, life coaching. So there's several words around it, but at the end of the day, it's really how to get to where you want to go using natural law. Yeah. In a nutshell.

Kathie [00:04:58]:
Is this your company? Did you start it?

Maria [00:05:00]:
Yeah. So when I started, I was training with my mentor, and my life was pretty much the platform. Because it's not really something that you just know. You have to practice it. So your life is really your classroom. You can know so much, but if you don't practice it, it's almost useless. And like heavyweight. So it’s me.

Kathie [00:05:21]:
It's your thing. I love the Internet. If I had to pick one reason, it's to meet people all over the world.

Maria [00:05:31]:
I know. You know, it's so cool how I have visitors from Sweden, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Norway, you know, and I don't even. I'm just here, right. So I think that's what. What I love about what I do is I actually have a chance to help people not from here, you know, like coach them. During the pandemic, I've had some Americans enroll even after the pandemic, of course, I got busy with some projects recently, so I wasn't really actively teaching online. But now that's done. Your invite actually came so timely because I did want to act. Reactivate my program.

Kathie [00:06:13]:
There you go. Okay. English, Filipino, Tagalog. What did you learn and when? Do you speak all of them? All the time?

Maria [00:06:24]:
Yes. Well, English. English is, I think the second language in the Philippines, of course. Depends where you grew up. I grew up in Manila, which is the main capital of the Philippines, but even in the northern part of the Philippines, because we are an archipelago made up of 7,107 islands. Depends when it's high tide or low tide.

Kathie [00:06:55]:
That would be a goal. We have a goal here of wanting to visit all 50 states. And you're like, I want to visit all 7,000 islands.

Maria [00:07:04]:
Yeah. But then there are places that even if there aren't, you know, it's not as cosmopolitan, the Americans, because we were colonized by the Spanish and the Americans. And I think at some point there were Chinese as well, and Japanese, but very quickly, but mostly Spanish and American. And when the Americans colonized us, they really introduced education, and the education included definitely the English language. So most Filipinos, I think in all of Asia, the Philippines is the best place because everybody knows English, you know, whether it's people who've studied all the way to college or not, people know English. You can talk to them, they'll understand you.

Maria [00:07:46]:
They can converse with you. So I think that's why there are a lot of call centers here, you know, or, you know, because it's the most English speaking country in all of Asia. So, yeah, I grew up with English, Filipino, Tagalog. Tagalog is the local dialect, I think, in English. Yeah. But it's nice. Filipino or Tagalog is like you, you know, I guess when it's your local language, it's so very subliminal. Like you feel it in your belly.

Maria [00:08:15]:
There's compassion, it's more natural. I mean, you don't need to read between the lines, you know, like you feel the person right away, when it's your local dialect. When it's English, definitely it's more formal, more respectful, you know. And of course, when people speak in English, people feel like they're more educated, even if everybody speaks English. But the English speaking who speak English on a regular basis are looked upon as more, I guess, more elite, more educated than the ones who speak in Tagalog. Mostly. Yeah.

Kathie [00:08:49]:
When you write, when you write for your website or for any communication at all, are you automatically typing in English?

Maria [00:08:57]:
Yes, English. I think in English. I communicate in English.

Kathie [00:09:03]:
Okay. So writing. You want to write a book?

Maria [00:09:06]:
Yes, actually I have already written one. The book is really, actually a book in a workbook that is all about my Embody Your Human Potential program. So I wanted it to be like a supplementary material for people who haven't taken the workshop. Or if they've taken it and they want reference material, you know, like a support one, or if they have the book, they want to workshop, you know what I mean? Like kind of supportive thing. So I really like, because, because I'm at the point where I've seen how it works for me. I started in 2005 and because of that, it's really about what do you desire and how to achieve it. So I've become a model, I've become a TV presenter, I've become a media producer, and I become an environmentalist and yoga teacher, definitely. So I feel like it's, you know, when it came to me, I also wasn't looking for it actually.

Maria [00:10:03]:
Of course I was wondering a lot about life. And then I met my teacher and he trained us. So I feel like, you know, when you see that something works, you don't want to keep it to yourself. So I feel like I want to pass it on. Yeah, that's what I want to do. So that's why I want to reactivate it again. The programs, the workshops, and definitely the book. I mean, you know, some people, they want to be bestseller.

Maria [00:10:27]:
For me, I just want to publish and I just want to have material. So if people look for it, I have it for them, you know, and it's just a support material. And especially now I feel like with all the stuff going on in the world because, you know, you can be reactive or you can be proactive. Right? So this one is really all about being proactive with what you want. Being your own leader, being your own authority. Because everybody in the spiritual community talks about sovereignty and self-authority. Especially with Pluto in Aquarius, you know, everyone's being empowered. So I feel like this is super helpful.

Maria [00:11:05]:
The book is already written because during that grand Saturn/Jupiter conjunction in Aquarius, it came to me as downloads, maybe because I'm Aquarius midheaven and Aquarius moon.

Kathie [00:11:15]:
Was that January of 2020?

Maria [00:11:17]:
Yes, January 2020. I had so many downloads, I wrote all of them down and I've accomplished all of them because I felt like, okay, you do this. This is how you can contribute with what you have. Because at that time I felt like, oh my God, so much is happening in the world. There was a volcano about to erupt, there's a pandemic. And I felt like, okay, if the world is going to end, what should I be doing? Like, how can I contribute? And it really gave us downloads. Literally, like, like it was being dictated to me. Like, this is what you can do. This is what you are. Make sure you do this. I've done most of them and now it's the book and maybe the programs.

Kathie [00:11:55]:
Wow, that is so cool. Do you handwrite or type or how do you do that on your phone? Talk?

Maria [00:12:03]:
Yes. So I was taught by my mentor that if you have a desire or an idea or a dream, it's very important that you write it on paper. He said that paper writing on paper is, you know, with the pen and all, is the first manifestation of your desire because it becomes physical. So first manifestation of your desire is when you write it down. And I think there's power in it. Although Lee Harris says that even if you type it, it's equally potent. But I think if you print, it becomes physical. So I do that. I do the writing physically, especially if it's ideas.

Maria [00:12:40]:
But of course, when there's already the book itself or when you're writing, I just kind of either do it on my phone or on my laptop. But when it's ideas, it's, you know, free flow. Sometimes I just scribble the words down. I don't want to be too strict, but especially when I get sudden insights, I get them when I'm walking, you know, and then I just have to write them down just so that they don't escape me.

Kathie [00:13:05]:
And put the date on there.

Maria [00:13:07]:
Yes, put the date. Yes.

Kathie [00:13:10]:
Yeah, because I, you know, I've done that for years. I run across notebooks or just pieces of paper or the back of an envelope, and I'm like, well, that's interesting. I wonder when I, when did I write that down? I don’t know.

Maria [00:13:21]:
Ad also, like, so, so, yeah, actually what I do is manifestation, if you want to put a word on it. The word is really how to manifest. But everybody's using that. But it is about manifesting, how to manifest scientifically, logically, you know, and, and definitely you write it down. I'm sure everybody's heard that you have to be specific. Okay, just some tips.

Maria [00:13:50]:
So this is, this is something I'll be sharing in the book as well. When you want to manifest, you don't want to put a limit on it. So for example, you want a new job, you just write the qualities of the job without necessarily saying, I want to be in this company. You know, I just want a company that has only four hours of work but pays me full time. I can get to work in the house or go there if I want, you know, freedom of time, but paid full salary, you know, stuff like that.

Maria [00:14:23]:
Just give the qualities. And then if you want certain talents and skills activated, you know, if you want to be a certain way. So definitely, you definitely want to put something to do with fashion and activating my talents and skills in beauty and design, you know, something like that. Just, just put some specifics, but you don't have to narrow it down to, like, who's supposed to give it. Right?

Maria [00:14:45]:
Yeah. So that the universe really sucks in the best fit for you. Because the universe knows you. So if you just give the qualities, it'll give it to you in the manner that is most easy. And it's good to put there in the easiest and most wonderful way.

Kathie [00:15:01]:
Yes. So specific qualities, specific feelings. Your internal specifics. And then the external, let it go.

Maria [00:15:10]:
Yes, yes. Because they say who, how, when is not in your jurisdiction. Who, how, when is the universe. What, is yours. Just the what. Like the, you know, if you're there, how would you want to feel? What would you want to be doing? You can specify also, like, I just want to feel good when I'm there. Most likely it'll come as a surprise because if you also say how or who, you're already so narrow. It creates a constriction and you don't want to constrict something that's infinite.

Kathie [00:16:01]:
Yes. Plus you're being a control freak. You know, that kind of gets us in trouble all the time when we do that.

Maria [00:16:09]:
I know. I'm really here to help people activate their human potential and help them achieve it to the degree that they want. Because I feel like sometimes people say they want something, but they're really not ready. You know what I mean? Like, they're not going to put in the hours. But really, like, if you really want something, you can achieve it, but you have to. You can't. It can't happen without you because life happens through you. Like, a lot of people want a happy life, but it. They have to be happy because you are life.

Maria [00:16:39]:
Like, I want my life to be good, but you are life. So you have to be good. You have to. You kind of like have to be the change you wish to see because you are the. You are life itself. Life is not apart from you. You are life.

Maria [00:16:55]:
So what you want, you bring. It has to pass through you. So, yeah, this is really for people who are serious and who want to make change and who will instigate it, who are not afraid to initiate because it's. You're really gonna feel it as well. You know, when it's there, you feel great. Yeah.

Kathie [00:17:14]:
Also, you cannot escape the poopiness. Like there's just some, you know, ick. That happens from time to time.

Maria [00:17:22]:
Oh, my God. Yeah, it's just.

Kathie [00:17:24]:
It's gonna happen.

Maria [00:17:25]:
Crazy. Yeah, crazy does happen. And you know, there's spiritual bypassing. You have to be positive all the time. Of course not. If you want to be a businessman, as a businessman, you will encounter shit. And it's okay, because that's what being a businessman means.

Kathie [00:17:44]:
Yeah. You know, and I think allowing, you know, when you get disappointed or rejected or whatever, to allow yourself to feel that and wallow. But for what period of time? I don't know. Seconds, minutes, hours. I don't know. Something. But acknowledging it and allowing it. And then, okay, I've done that. Now let's move on.

Maria [00:18:11]:
Right, right. Actually, it passes through you. I actually had a recent disappointment, very big one, because we were hoping to manage a wellness sanctuary. I'm not going to say what, but, you know, we discovered some things that we didn't like. And of course, you know, and some people were behaving in ways that were not professional. So, you know, at the end of the day, it was so promising, but ended up like, just, you know, it leaves you discombobulated, but can't blame yourself, especially if you've done your best. What I also realized, being a manifestor, creator, you can only do so much.

Maria [00:18:49]:
You're not God, you know. In a company, obviously, you're just one person. So if other people behave like you're not in control of the results, you're only in control of your best. And that's the good thing, is if you do your best and give it your all, you will attract better circumstances that are probably a better fit. So. But exactly as you say, part of it is the disappointment, you know, because like, for example, if you are wanting to be a business, an entrepreneur, you are not always going to encounter the same kind of people in integrity as you. So, you know, part of it is being disappointed, but, you know, you just roll with it.

Kathie [00:19:30]:
And that's okay. Yeah, it's part of it. All of this, all of the spiritual stuff, it's all communication. With me, myself and I, with the universe, with you, with communities, with people.

Maria [00:19:43]:
Yes. Actually, words bring worlds because words, like the combination of consonants and vowels, they actually stimulate certain parts of the brain that make you feel it. When you use certain words, especially when they're charged with emotions, it's almost either like a curse or a spell. And so, yeah, it does matter what words you use. Because idea, the word idea is actually God. I think Deya is God, the feminine form of God.

Kathie [00:20:14]:
Cool.

Maria [00:20:15]:
That's why in the Bible it says in the beginning was the Word and the Word was God, because words start it. It really starts it. And when you write, you're writing down an idea. You're literally summoning life. Words summon life because until you say it, it's like, it's just everything is chaos. But when you say it, there's order from nothing. There's something because of words. So it's very important, especially when you write and when you manifest, it's very important to be very specific, you know, because you're literally summoning something, bringing it to life through the word.

Kathie [00:20:56]:
Beautiful.

Maria [00:20:57]:
It is. It's so cool. I love our discussion. I think words, whether spoken or thought or written, is the articulation of life as itself, becoming aware of itself through us. And as humans, because we think and we speak, we are actually conduits of life, articulating itself in our being as expression, as experience, as enjoyment, as embodiment. Through the programs I teach, we are able to articulate that which we wish to be as a being. And because we are human, we're constantly thinking, speaking, being, becoming. In a way, it's like a weaving, you know? And we're always weaving, whether we're aware of it or not. So better to be conscious weavers and to realize the power of our thoughts, our words.

Maria [00:21:53]:
It's not just literally like positive thinking, but the power of our thoughts that everything we think is an expression of who we are, everything that we say is an expression of who we are, everything that we write and express. So better to direct it and intend it so that we enjoy what we are and what we become and others enjoy it with us. A conscious weaving of the kind of person you want to be through your intentions, your words, your expressions, and which becomes your life at the end of the day.

Kathie [00:22:25]:
I love it. Maria, thank you so much for sharing you. This has been so much fun.

Maria [00:22:34]:
Thank you so much, Kathie. You're so fun.

Kathie [00:22:36]:
Keep in touch.

Maria [00:22:37]:
Yes, I love you.

Kathie [00:22:38]:
Bye.

Maria [00:22:39]:
Bye.
